Wow, August is almost over, summer is nearing its inevitable demise as the seasons of life keep moving through their cycles.
Cycles, that’s life isn’t it? I remember some 30 years ago having a ‘reading’ with a gentleman in Calgary (can’t remember his name) where he used a combination of the I Ching and astrology. It was quite beautiful in that it so eloquently acknowledged the cycles of change and the spirals of life. The greatest gift I received from his reading was an understanding of how windows open and close in life as the spirals of evolution bring us around to deal with the unresolved issues of the past at certain times in life giving us opportunities to resolve, to let go or to gain new understanding we may have missed the last time around.
I have come to recognize this spiral effect in my life, seeing how what is incomplete rears up for me to take notice of it in cycles. Old patterns that seem to have been dormant for ages will come to light giving me the opportunity to do the healing work I didn’t do last time. It isn’t punishment; it’s a portal that opens during a new cycle where I have evolved to a level of consciousness better equipped to heal than I was last time around. The portal seems to be open only for a short amount of time then it closes again and if we haven’t done the healing work, the unresolved issues recede back into the subconscious to be resurrected again later on to give us yet another opportunity.
This is how I understand karma. It is the Soul’s journey of experiencing ideas from start to finish.
What a beautiful thing!
Namaste
ps I had no idea I was going to write about this until I sat down and started typing (which is usually the case). That’s what I love about blogging and journaling, you just never know what’s going to showup!
