What a difference a day makes, or rather a good night’s sleep. Sleep was very elusive for me Friday night, so I was barely able to function on Saturday after only 3 hours sleep. I made up for it last night and I feel great. I think we can underestimate the importance of sleep and rest. As I’ve aged, I’ve gained a whole new level of respect for them.

There are a number of factors that have become a lot more important for me as I not only age but have totally committed to a sense of wholeness. Health on every level is a top priority now because this mind and body are what the soul is expressing through so if I’m off on any level I am keenly aware of its effects.

Of course, we all go through down times with our energy and health but instead of pushing my way through as I used to do, I now value taking the time to rest, relax, renew and just take everything that much slower. Actually, it’s in some of those down times that I gain the most insight and feel the most connected internally. I don’t have to go looking for it either, if that’s what I need in the moment, that’s what will happen. I’ve never been in charge of that even though I sure tried. It’s good to relax into allowing the soul to take me where I need to go without rebellion or resentment. One thing I have come to trust is that whatever shows up in my life, it’s there for me, I just have to receive it; even those sleepless nights.
