I’m in a different kind of space today. Found out this morning that a neighbour died this week. Totally unexpected heart attack. We only knew him to chat as we went by each other on the street but there’s something surreal when someone you know who is a lot younger than you dies so suddenly.

My heart absolutely goes out to his wife and kids as they try to make sense of this devastating event. I’ve been very blessed not to have lost someone close to me in this way so I have to say I can’t even imagine what it’s like. I’ve met with a lot of people as a life celebrant over the years who have had to deal with this kind of loss but there’s still no way anyone can truly know how someone is feeling as they come to terms with their losses.

It’s easy to want to do a spiritual bypass on this kind of pain but no matter how much we have to be grateful for or how positive we want to be, there’s no way around the grief. And this time of year can bring up a lot of pain for those who’ve lost loved ones. That’s why I decided to do a Zoom Grief over the Holidays session on December 15th. I want to give people an opportunity to get some information that can help them deal with their feelings at this time of year and I want to provide an opportunity for people to ask questions and talk about what it’s like for them too. That’s why I like Zoom, it isn’t somebody just talking at you, it’s interactive so there’s opportunity if anyone should like it to speak as well.

If you or someone you know would like to attend, it’s at 6:30 MST this coming Wednesday evening and everyone is welcome.

Just click on the link and it will take you there.
